Demonstrated Successes:
Coldstream Laboratories:
"Nicole recruited 3 VP positions for our company. Nicole is very knowledgeable of the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. She and her team did a fantastic job of identifying, screening candidates. We filled all three positions in less than 3 months. Highly recommend her."
Joe Wyse, Ph.D. President, CEO Coldstream LaboratoriesColdstream Laboratories Inc. opened in 1986 as the Center for Pharmaceutical Science & Technology (CPST), a unit of the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy. The CPST completed over 200 development projects that led to clinical trials and is registered with the FDA, the DEA, and the Commonwealth of Kentucky Board of Pharmacy for the manufacturing of pharmaceutical products and the handling of controlled substances.
In February of 2007, the University decided to spin off the CPST into a private company, Coldstream Laboratories Inc. Coldstream Laboratories Inc. is a subsidiary of Kentucky Technology Inc., the University of Kentucky's for-profit company that invests in and operates businesses and real estate. The transition to private industry allowed Coldstream Laboratories Inc. to keep pace with its competitors by moving at the speed of business. Coldstream Laboratories, Inc. will maintain close ties to the UK College of Pharmacy's education and research mission.
As a newly privatized company, Coldstream Laboratories was tasked to hire three Vice Presidents to join Joe Wyse in the launch of this facility. Joe retained Prescience Consulting to first hire the Vice President of Manufacturing Operations and the Vice President of Pharmaceutical Development. Upon successful hire of these two key staff members, Prescience was retained to fill the Vice President of Quality Operations. All three positions were filled within three months.
VaxGen:

Erin was hired in 2004 to fill over 100 positions in a 1 year time frame for manufacturing ramp up, clinical trials, and product release to fulfill a government contract for the anthrax vaccine.
She was able to fill the positions for VaxGen, even though they were a de-listed company, when all of their competitors were companies that were stable with commercialized products and guaranteed longevity.
She was a keynote speaker at the last annual HR Bio-Con in Las Vegas about her recruiting techniques and her innovative initiative to set up an in-house temp agency with her recruiting staff. In all, she cut down on recruiting costs for the company in seven figure amounts.
When the government contract ended, and the company was forced to cease working on their anthrax vaccine, Erin was able to successfully downsize by utilizing her extensive HR network and holding a job fair with over 40 biotech/pharma companies in attendance where 90% of employees were interviewed for at least one job opportunity. She created resume books for attending companies and created a book of company profiles for her employers so that everyone had ample information for the best possible initial interview.
Erin's foresight and communication with employees enabled the lay-offs to happen with as little fear and anxiety as possible. Erin spearheaded cultural change and executive management changes and was able to function as the sole generalist partner to all executive management and departments, the head of recruiting, and the agent for change when the company needed to change directions overnight.
Abgenix Job Fair
"Recently we relied on them to pull together a highly visible, on-site job fair, and in record time. They did a fabulous job that netted us not only great hires but also really galvanized our own hiring managers!"
In 2003 Abgenix, Inc. hired Nicole to orchestrate their Quality and Manufacturing Job Fair. The objective of the event was to hire close to 80 employees in a very short time frame. The event was a tremendous success and was completed under budget and to the great satisfaction of the executives at Abgenix. Over 1000 applicants arrived and over 70 positions filled.
Abgenix executives and Human Resources representatives have stated that this was the best run Career Fair they ever attended.
Molecular Dynamics

In 2000, Molecular Dynamics retained Nicole and her team to hire 200 employees within a six-month timeframe. During this period, she was successful at building the team of consultants that functioned as an in-house HR department to manage the tremendous growth. In addition, she was responsible for creating an employee referral program, revising and modernizing Human Resources documentation and building a candidate database.
